Talent Booking Contract (1099 Independent Contractor)
Independent contractor agreement between host and booked talent for event services.
1. Engagement
This Contract confirms the engagement of the Service Provider ("Talent") by the Event Host ("Host") through the Sioree platform for the services described in the booking confirmation. Talent is engaged as an independent contractor, not an employee.
2. Services & Schedule
Talent agrees to provide the services specified in the booking: role, call time, performance/service duration, and any special requirements noted. Talent will arrive at the designated venue at the specified call time and perform services through the agreed end time.
3. Compensation
Host agrees to pay Talent the rate specified in the booking confirmation. Payment is facilitated through Sioree's Stripe Connect system. The Platform deducts its service fee before transferring net proceeds to Talent's connected account. Talent is responsible for their own tax obligations as a 1099 independent contractor.
4. Cancellation
If Host cancels less than 48 hours before the event, Talent is entitled to 50% of the agreed rate. If Talent cancels less than 48 hours before the event, Talent forfeits the booking and may be subject to platform review. Cancellations with more than 48 hours notice carry no financial penalty.
5. Independent Contractor Status
Talent acknowledges that they are an independent contractor and not an employee of Host or Sioree. Talent is responsible for their own taxes (including self-employment tax), insurance, equipment, and compliance with applicable laws and certifications.
6. Liability & Insurance
Talent carries their own liability insurance where required by law or venue policy. Host's event insurance covers general liability for the event. Neither party is liable for the other's negligence.
